Doug is a dangerous loner who whiles away the hours by filming unsuspecting women on hidden cameras, ultimately developing an infatuation with Amy (Ana Claudia Talancon). But after Doug has wired up her home with cameras and microphones, he takes the ruse one step further, using the information he's garnered to align his tastes with Amy's in order to impress her at a "chance" meeting. Hmm, young Hanks looks so creepy that there’s no way I would let him in. Alone with Her is one of those modern, minimalistic films that want to look as realistic as possible, with the cameras playing a direct role in the story (though here it feels excessive at times). The script doesn’t deliver any surprises (let alone a twist) and leisurely reaches its expected conclusion, leaving the viewer with the not very pleasant feeling that the world must be full of such maniacs. Very decent.
