Forty-something Viktor, a man in “the worst years”, accidentally saves a young woman from committing a suicide. It turns out that Mia studies photography and it’s possible that she didn’t really want to end her life. Maybe she just wanted to take a photograph of herself in the waves of the Danube. Viktor falls in love with her while his wife Karla seeks consolation in alcohol, her friend – a gynecologist and a spiritual healer. Viktor gets more and more entangled in the web of the uneven relationship with the girl. And his lost youth is nowhere in sight... A tragicomedy set in a modern city, Halflife is about the disintegration of relationships, the decomposition of life securities, the breakdown of a marriage and maybe also the disappearance of good manners from our lives.
