Scat and Hot Lips are a couple of fun-loving, trouble-prone buddies who, after setting a circus ablaze, flee to Rio de Janeiro on a boat. Also aboard is the lovely Lucia, who's being hypnotized by her greedy Aunt Catherine. Why? Catherine is trying to coerce Lucia can into an arranged marriage that would be quite lucrative for the family. Can Scat and Hot Lips save the Latin lass before it's too late? The pairing of Bing Crosby and Bob Hope is so good that something just had to come of this film. It was definitely a success. It's almost as if this film takes a little inspiration from Some Like It Hot, but then again, Road to Rio isn't quite as funny, it's not as packed with humor, and it doesn't grab you as much. Still, you'll probably enjoy it.
