angielski It's been a long time since I've seen a biographical documentary that achieves the qualities of Gabin intime, aristocrate et paysan. Particularly documentaries devoted to film stars are often based on the memories and recollections of incompetent people, the excerpts and period photographs do not make sense, and the selected personality is covered by an attempt at sensationalism. Fortunately, that is not the case in this documentary. No period of his life is explicitly taboo, and no part of his career is explicitly marked as ephemeral. Perhaps only the statements about why he married so often are not without subjective impressions. However, both beginners and advanced lovers of 20th-century French culture will be satisfied; there is no lack of insight into the Gabin family, the emphasis is equally on theater and film, and there are no missing chapters from his wartime life or his life in his later years. I hope that a lot of potential viewers will find a liking in young Gabin and his work. ()
