Ha'boged Hakatan

This captivating coming-of-age story of a precocious young Israeli boy, Proffy, and his inconceivable friendship with British Sergeant Dunlop (Alfred Molina), takes place in Palestine in 1947. Based on the best-selling novel by Amos Oz, the film parallels the maturation of the impressionable young boy with Israel, as it transitions into statehood, and revolves around the poignant but problematic alliance of the boy and the sergeant, whose mutual friendship is judged harshly.
