Opisy(1)

Two longtime NYPD partners on the trail of a stolen, rare, mint-condition baseball card find themselves up against a merciless, memorabilia-obsessed gangster. Jimmy is the veteran detective whose missing collectible is his only hope to pay for his daughter's upcoming wedding, and Paul is his "partner-against-crime" whose preoccupation with his wife's alleged infidelity makes it hard for him to keep his eye on the ball. angielski At first, all that constant shouting pissed me off, but then I got used to it. Cop Out is watchable, one-off entertainment that fizzles out very quickly. It’s best feature are the dialogues written by Kevin Smith, who basically directed it on demand and the result is an utterly derivative film that could be credited to any Nobody out there. It’s not bad or stupid, it’s just tragically uninteresting. I laughed only twice, it’s not bursting out with humour. Actually, it was considerably more fun when there was some action than when it was time to attempt a joke. ()

angielski Lame. Not as awful as I was expecting, but still pretty lame. The original title, A Couple of Dicks, would seriously have suited it better. It’s a long time since I saw two bigger dickheads on the screen. Bruce’s role is really dumb and it’s obvious that there are just a couple of moments where he actually enjoyed the acting. Tracy “Chimp" Morgan is awful and his antics absolutely buried the movie. Kevin Smith can’t film action and the dialogs that unfortunately don’t come from his own head have very few high points. Effing and blinding, even if it’s well-done, isn’t everything and Cop Out just isn’t good enough to be a nostalgia movie. A waste of time. If only Smith and Willis had tried a different movie. ()

angielski Kevin Smith made this? Even Jersey Girl was much “Smithier". Cop Out is weird. Their script is not as juicy as I would have expected and I could count on one hand the individual moments that made me smile. Smith is definitely not a director of action scenes and in this his latest effort he suspiciously takes away most of the conversations, Tracy Morgan is not an actor and certainly not a comedian, the villains are ridiculous (but mostly unintentionally), I didn't like the music either... The only sure thing Cop Out has is a bald man named Bruce Willis. But he has also shown us several times that he can make fun of himself much better. ()

angielski As a nearly boundless admirer of Kevin Smith's work, I absolutely did not understand this. Bruce is not bad, but it's quite a classic role for him, Tracy Morgan is terrible and it turns out that in the television, short format, he is bearable, his character in "30 Rock" stands out with many jokes, but the same doesn't happen in the movie. The problem is also that Kevin Smith wanted to make a comedy, but apparently he didn't have a funny breakfast. And so, this movie is a mess. The audience suffers. ()

angielski Cop Out is a typical American comedy with one tough and cool cop and his goofy and garrulous partner, the kind that divides most of the audience into fans and detractors. And since I fall roughly somewhere in between, and with each successive similar film, mostly exactly the same in terms of the nature of its humour, I'm slowly beginning to shift to the side of the naysayers, and I rate Cop Out neutrally. It's not a parade of awkwardness, and the dogged pursuit of the joke at all costs often works, which is good, but for a comedy from "visionary" Kevin Smith and starring a still-iconic action star, it is to some extent a parade of creative awkwardness and extreme desperation... Basically, nobody needs to see films like this anymore. 55% ()
