Kelly feels her life is unraveling. Her mother's death has left her as the guardian of her autistic 12-year-old brother, Tom, and she's just learned her stepfather pilfered her college fund to buy a tiger for his safari park. To make matters worse, a hurricane is cutting a swath of destruction toward her home. But Kelly has something greater to fear than the hurricane's 120-mile-per-hour winds - the savage tiger has somehow slipped inside her house. Now, trapped inside their boarded-up home, Kelly and Tom must fight for their lives against a deadly man-eater who smells their fear∧ wants their flesh. (oficjalny tekst dystrybutora)

angielski Two hours ago, I would never have thought, even in my wildest dreams, that someone would be able to make a good horror film with a tiger in the main role, let alone something very tense and scary (maybe a silly B-movie at most). Burning Bright is a pleasant surprise of grandiose proportions, even if in the first twenty minutes or so there’s nothing that’d suggest the horror spectacle that is to come. The moment the likeable protagonist, her autistic brother and the hungry predator find themselves closed together in a house, you get on a ride that won’t let you catch your breath until the end credits. I can tell you with absolute certainty that this year I haven’t seen a more riveting genre film. In my current enthusiasm I’m willing to give it the highest rating, but I’d rather wait a couple of days to see if the experience doesn’t fizzle out too quickly, in any case, recommended. Edit after a couple of days: Yeah, it’s not worthy of five stars, but I’m leaving it at a solid four. I didn’t mind the plot holes because the atmosphere is great :) ()

angielski It sounds almost unbelievable, but Burning Bright is not as stupid of a film as it may seem, and instead it is a film that is very well constructed, has a great atmosphere and is excellently built. Yet it's really only about a girl trying to survive in the company of a tiger. It’s a crazy idea, but it was handled very well, for which the creators definitely deserve praise. ()
