With a mischievous glint in her eye and plenty of knowing winks, Fanny relates her journey from wholesome naïf to worldly woman. After losing her parents to smallpox, the poor country girl travels to London, where she falls into prostitution under the guidance of an infamous madam. Forced to take a series of lovers to survive, Fanny learns to relish sensual delights -- but reserves her heart for her one true love. (oficjalny tekst dystrybutora)

angielski The classic novel "Fanny Hill, or Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure" is a pleasantly decadent idyll, entirely appropriate to the problems of a poor girl in the world before the Great French Revolution. She has no bed of roses to lie down on, she is haunted by pain and betrayal, and yet she does not lose herself. And in an arc through numerous falls to the bottom, she returns to the imaginary peak of her happiness at the end of her story. The story of her life is told by Fanny herself, and this adaptation is not ashamed to walk with her through all the bedrooms and all the embraces she has passed through in her young life. Whether or not she wanted to. Rebecca Night is delightful, and all the emotions that she is tormented by and rejoices in beautifully mirror Cleland's lessons. I now happily rank Fanny's story with all the great adventures of Moll Flanders, Josephine Mutzenbacher, Lady Fuckingham, the Chatterleys, and Justine & Juliette. These are the heroines of my literary world. ()

angielski There are basically three categories of actors. The first you know by name and they receive significant leading or supporting roles, the second you only know by their faces, but you can immediately classify them because they acted in this or that famous movie, and then there is the third category - those that you can't classify and you don't know at all. The cast of Fanny Hill is mainly composed of actors from the third category. It is a television film that tries to use a historical theme from the 18th century about a cunning courtesan. I understand that in its time the book had a spicy and scandalous tone, but I highly doubt its literary qualities, as the impression of something cheap is underlined by the crazy vocabulary borrowed from novels for maids around the year 1900 (my parents were poor but hardworking...). It has routine directing and sterile erotica, whose emotional impact is like a passionate kiss through plexiglass. Overall impression: 20%. ()
