Based upon the 1919 Broadway hit, Smilin' Through tells the story of a love that reaches beyond the grave, two generations of lovers finally united after the dark days of the first World War - one in life, the other in death. Jeanette MacDonald and Gene Raymond play dual roles in this charming musical valentine of innocence and heartbreak in an age gone by.
