To support her family, Kim Yoon Hee (Park Min Young) regularly dons male guise and makes money by writing essays and even erotic novels. She is smarter than all the wannabe scholars she ghostwrites for, but as a woman, there is no future for her other than arranged marriage. Yoon Hee is hired to take the Sungkyunkwan entrance exam for someone else, but because of Lee Sun Joon's (Micky Yoo Chun) meddling, she ends up getting accepted by decree of the king (Jo Sung Ha). Her lie is punishable by death, so she can only continue to pose as a man and enter Sungkyunkwan, where her roommate is none other than Sun Joon! Son of the prime minister (Kim Gab Soo), Sun Joon spurns partisan politics and holds strong to his idealistic principles, but he still has much to learn about how the world really runs. Everything he believes comes into question at Sungkyunkwan where he befriends rich playboy Goo Yong Ha (Song Joong Ki) and vigilante Moon Jae Shin (Yoo Ah In), and slowly falls for the cute and cynical Yoon Hee. Can love and friendship hold up when political and romantic rivalries spill over and secrets are revealed? (oficjalny tekst dystrybutora)

angielski The best dorama from Korea in the last couple of years, or to be precise – the best story. And you just have to give those five stars, even if they're not completely flawless. It reminded me a lot of Painter of the Wind with my favorite Moon, but for all the seriousness it had, there was also romance and comedy. Only, world of wonders, it worked; it wasn't overdone, whiny, dull. It was really cute. Plus, the musical element is really well done (I've already downloaded the OST). The funniest part is rock in a historical dorama, which actually even fits. It’s surprising, but not discouraging. The pretty costumes outshine the pretty boys, and this time there were three of them and one of them, the evil school board president, was a total hottie. This is perhaps the only dorama where I sympathized with the bad guy and cheered for him. That actor just really caught my eye. It's beautiful to see them all act. Old familiar faces and new ones. Plus the ending, the very end, was priceless (plus with his beard Micky looked like a mafioso, yet still chic... :-D). With that said, I'd like to mention another big positive, which that is that none of the characters were overly reserved. Somehow all the characters felt real to me, with real personalities. You want a gender-bender? You want a story? You want people and not a bunch of personality traits? You want an attractive actress and actor? And you want it all at the same time? Go for this dorama.
