"There is no point working or studying in this country," says young Merci on the streets of the Cuban capital Havana. When Javi, a student, is asked what sacrifices he is willing to make for the ideas of the revolution, he gives the camera the finger. According to some, a new opposition is growing on the "island of freedom". These opponents are today's young people, who have nothing in common with the 50-year-old revolutionary crusade and don't share their parents' feelings about its ideals. The grandchildren of the Cuban revolution speak openly about the frustration and depression of the younger generation, who yearn for foreign travel, decent housing and freedom of speech, which they increasingly find compensation for on the internet and in the provocative lyrics of rap songs. Both "street children" and opposition journalists talk about the trap they find themselves in thanks to the Castro regime. Interviewees include the persecuted blogger Yoani Sánchez and Cuban hip-hop artists. Carlos Montaner's film is interlaced with archive footage and peppered with authentic Cuban rap music.
