Istnieje świat, w którym niedźwiedzie żyją na powierzchni, a gryzonie pod ziemią. Myszy boją się niedźwiedzi, a niedźwiedzie nienawidzą myszy. Jednak kiedy Celestyna, praktykująca u dentysty myszka, spotyka misia Ernesta, biednego ulicznego muzyka, znajdują wspólny język.
