What I like about the writing for this show is that the story starts with characters about whom I know next to nothing, and for a considerable stretch, they seem to only complicate the plot without any apparent connection. Then, quite elegantly, everything falls into place. Peeking into the investigators' family lives often dilutes and slows down the plot in other shows. Here, it's just right – these glimpses provide the characters with the necessary depth. A quality episode. / Lesson learned: Watch out for gray mice.
