Most nad Sundem - Série 3

I took me a while to get used to the new partner. I mean the first Danish detective was really nice and quite strange at the same time. With this one, it took me a while, but somewhere half-way through the show, there was a breaking point and emotions awoke immediately. But the murder investigation is at times difficult to follow. And that’s despite the fact that the murders are properly ritual and brutal. They even affect Saga’s personal life, who in this season is getting hit from all directions, and it should be pointed out that in terms of the psychology, the actress Sofia Helin portrays probably the most complicated character in a crime show that I have ever seen. Towards the end, I kept thinking about whether I was more disappointed or pleased with the season. For instance, I kept looking for links to the actual bridge. But the season finale saved everything by becoming the best episode of the season, so season three deserves a solid four-star review from me. (29.11.2017)

At first I couldn't forgive the show for getting rid of Martin, who I thought was a great contrast to Saga Norén, but the case was so engrossing that I forgave them for that. Moreover, her new colleague, Henrik, is such an interesting character that soon enough he will draw you in. The plot gets complicated, it's not boring in terms of the relationships and there's definitely room for another series. I'm curious to see what happens next. (16.11.2017)

The plot left a little to be desired towards the end, but the season still gets five stars from me (just like the previous two). I was quite concerned about the absence of Kim Bodnia, especially after the first episode. But Thure Lindhardt turned out to be a very good replacement. He gave the whole season a new lease on life, and I really enjoyed him in the role of the detective. As I’ve come to expect from the show, this season also had a perfectly grim atmosphere, great suspense, and occasional decent action. Things came to a satisfying conclusion even the third time around. / Lesson learned: I've never been to Denmark or Sweden, but Øresund Bridge feels like home to me now. (15.08.2022)

After the second season of The Bridge, where the investigative duo faced a highly sophisticated conspiracy of an international terrorist organization with global ambitions, the third season returned the series to its beginnings. Once again, the detectives are confronted with a shocking series of murders, perpetrated by a macabre, deranged individual who seeks revenge on the world and everyone who has allegedly or actually harmed him. This concept works for the third time, and I must admit that I am personally surprised at how well the series is doing. The problem lies in the excessive complexity and overwhelming number of characters, which, although a phenomenon accompanying the series from the beginning, escalates in the third season. I got a bit lost in the multitude of Nordic names. The series benefited from a change in the male lead of the central duo. Just like Saga, her new partner carries the burden of the past and struggles with inner demons. But that is precisely the seasoning that helps divert attention from the improbable, even unreal moments. The viewer must be fascinated by the perpetrator, who effortlessly assumes the roles of a midwife, top sniper, welder, fighter, handyman of all sorts, artist, and designer. One cannot help but understand why the Nordic countries are so successful when they produce such outstanding individuals. The Bridge is certainly not real life, but it manages to capture many of the real problems of contemporary Sweden. Moreover, and above all, the series practically always keeps the viewer in suspense and diverts attention at opportune moments. I would not object to a fourth season. Overall impression: 90%.
