After his latest mission goes disastrously wrong, veteran CIA black ops agent Emerson Kent (John Cusack) is given one last chance to prove he still has what it takes to do his job. His new assignment: guarding Katherine (Malin Akerman), a code operator at a top-secret remote CIA "Numbers Station" where encrypted messages are sent and received. Well, John Cusack probably has too big a positive reputation to ruin it by shooting a girl, actually even a child, in the film. This definitely didn't win me over because right at the beginning it clearly set the rules that are given, unchanging, and expected. The film is not bad, but simply average. Predictability, the effort to push the envelope, a small story, no big resolution, these make it a clear candidate for fifty percent. And in some eyes, even less.
