Wspólna chata

I came home from work on Friday and I had some slight cleaning up to do. I switched on HBO to accompany me and this family comedy looked as if it had been made by the Hallmark channel. But that no longer exists, so these flicks go to HBO. In those 100 minutes I polished the apartment like never before. At the same time, however, I was accompanied by a rather bland, non-entertaining and terribly boring movie that couldn’t be saved by the otherwise good actress Marisa Tomei or the distinctive Billy Crystal. This movie is just a beach chill-out that doesn’t offer anything, just helps to pass the time. And if you don’t do anything while watching this movie, you’ll be thinking there can hardly be a worse way to pass the time. (04.06.2014)

Until the moralizing at the end, it's actually quite an interesting comedy. I thought it would focus on an old guy who has a bad relationship with technology, but the film focused on situational comedy, which worked well. It's a nice family concept that I enjoyed. However, as I said, then it starts moralizing, everything is explained, and it plays on a heavy note of family love and what went wrong, and it becomes just an ordinary film that tries to instill some message. But one great realization is that Billy Crystal still has it in him. (20.11.2013)
