Valdemar Psilander’s best film, which was released after his death. Psilander was the inspiration and idol of a whole generation and led the Czech pioneer and jack-of-all-trades Karel Lamač, among others, to become interested in film. Psilander was unrivaled in his time and managed to captivate crowds. The story of thwarted family happiness in a circus setting is an unforgettable probe into the soul of a heartbroken artist. However, despite all the fascinating circumstances, a remake with Gösta Ekman was made nearly ten years later, and The Dancing Clown was able to come to life again.
