La brujula la lleva el muerto

Chencho is thirteen. He wants to cross the Mexico-USA border to get to Chicago with his older brother. On the road he meets Paciano, an old man who dies shortly after inviting him into his wagon, keeping the compass stuck in his dead hand. Chencho continues his way in the wagon. Soon he finds characters that have nowhere to go but no reason to stay: three paid-mourners, a man walking the desert with a super-market cart, a soldier who killed his General, a one-eyed boy with a lame dog and a man who is followed by goats.The almost-surrealistic wagon navigates the desert, going always to the north marked by the hand of a dead man.
