angielski The Big Restaurant as "de Funès's most artful comedy" works especially in the first half, which is full of hilariously comic restaurant situations involving the "mild" terrorising of the staff. In the second half, the film relies on a police investigations and action chases, but the whole crime-plot makes a poor impression and pushes the film into the average. I found the denouement rather silly. Louis De Funès didn't disappoint, but the weaker script noticeably tripped him up at times. ()

angielski This is a film that has a quite crazy plot, whose outcome is not as unexpected as it would be appropriate for the whole film. Louis de Funès is good mainly in the sense that he is not the one controlling the story, but is pushed around for most of the film. He sweats beautifully the whole time and once again shows his comedic potential. ()
