An absolutely proper French movie with everything it entails and most of all with Jean-Paul Belmondo in the leading role. Nevertheless, Bruno Cremer complements him nicely and the whole movie with these characters is absolutely flawless. The story is not the most complicated one, the suspense is brutal, and it is so rough that it is almost over the line for a French movie, which is often connected with honesty. The movie was really amazing. The finale with Oscar Wilde’s quote knocked me down so hard that I spent at least another hour thinking about the movie. The facial expressions, the eye contact… This is France at its best. ()
