angielski On Engšpígl’s recommendation I began to watch what he considers to be one of the greatest French classics with the best friendship story of all. Personally I always see the true friendship in the final scene of the movie My New Partner. This movie comes close to that scene, but not entirely, as I sometimes lacked humor in it. It is funny, but not that much. And I don’t know whether to take it seriously or not. Towards the ending I realized that it is serious and so I tuned into that. The finale was truly beautiful… Cruel, but beautiful, the way only France can do it. The Last Adventure is a game of eyes and emotions. And I have to say it is a joy to watch these amazing actors in these movies. ()

angielski Even though de Roubaix's music carries you away just as pleasantly as sea waves, and Alain Delon proves with every gesture that there are few who can compete with him as a cool guy, The Adventurers hardly work as a cohesive film at all. The shifting moods from spirited to melancholic and from comically witty to suspenseful just don't sit well with me, and it's only the excellent trio of actors that keeps the film together amidst its unruly genre jumps. It's wonderfully nostalgic on a friendly level, but sadly fragmented in other aspects. ()

angielski The title of the film may evoke an adventure spectacle, but it would have worked much better if it had focused on the relationship between two close friends, disrupted by the entrance of a beautiful woman, and their long-tested friendship was put to an unexpected test. The story about a wreck at the bottom of the ocean and a clash with a gang of foreign mercenaries is artificially attached to the plot, and the crucial meeting on a romantic island is poorly directed. Joanna Shimkus in the role of a fateful woman doesn't showcase much acting skill, as she is a typical case of a model who sold her charms in her youth to then marry advantageously and disappear from the world of cinema. What works completely, however, is the presence of two giants of French cinema, Ventura and Delon. Overall impression: 60%. ()

angielski I originally wanted to give one less star for the drawn-out introduction, but the ending finally secured the fourth star. Lino Ventura and Alain Delon are naturally great in their roles, and the viewer simply trusts their friendship 100%, no matter what happens. As for the direction, I liked de Roubaix's omnipresent music, the strongly enhanced and somehow carefree and dreamy atmosphere, while the touching ending reminded me of the best of Enrico's masterpiece - The Old Gun.
