Rok 1990. Kathrine od dwudziestu lat mieszka w Norwegii, ale urodziła się we wschodnich Niemczech i wychowała w tamtejszym sierocińcu. Pewnego dnia jej spokój burzy pojawienie się prawnika Svena Solbacha. Prowadzi on śledztwo w sprawie dzieci z nazistowskiego programu "Lebensborn", a Katrine okazuje się być jednym z nich. Prawnik odkrył, że urodziła się podczas II wojny światowej ze związku Norweżki i Niemca i dlatego po wojnie trafiła do sierocińca. Kathrine postanawia przejrzeć archiwa i spotykać ze świadkami tamtych wydarzeń. (Ale kino+)

An unusual story based on a number of true events, which you wouldn’t believe actually happened until you watched the movie itself. The lives of all people whom you meet on the street, in a bus, or on the subways, are diverse and rarely simple. Katrine, for example, lived a life nobody ever wished to have. Her whole life, she was hiding her identity, but in the end, the truth caught up with her. I cannot imagine anybody could keep such a secret and I certainly cannot imagine that somebody could be such a monster as to ask that of people. Two Lives have convinced me that even such stories are written by the world we live in.
