The Harvest

  • Wielka Brytania Can't Come Out To Play

Opisy(1)

Maryann moves in with her grandparents after she's orphaned. Desperately lonely, the preteen discovers that the only child her own age in her new neighborhood is confined to a wheelchair. Unfortunately, Andy has an extremely domineering mother who refuses to let him leave the house or play with Maryann because of her fears for his extremely poor health. His dad is more sympathetic but has a hard time standing up to his wife. When Maryann sneaks into the house and explores its off-limits basement, she learns that both parents have a very dark secret, and that their reasons for keeping Andy inside and Maryann outside are far from altruistic. angielski I don’t know what I was thinking, watching a horror movie over lunch. I was quite lucky that this film isn’t scary at all. And the only reason to watch it is Michael Shannon. He really isn’t a bad actor and it’s a pity that he keeps pigeon-holing himself in nonsense movies like this one. ()

angielski "The Harvest" is not a film that will scare you with jump scares, but it will scare you with its atmosphere. It will captivate you with what is happening here and how people act when they are in a crisis situation and when they want to help their child at all costs. Michael Shannon once again demonstrates what a great actor he is, and here, where exaggerated acting is not needed, he portrays a surprisingly calm character. His artistry is once again in the right place. ()
