Miss Farkku-Suomi

In a little Finnish town at the end of 1970s, seventeen-year-old Valde doesn't really fit in the local conventional environment. He has succumbed to the rough rock and role models like Lou Reed or David Bowie. His quirky look encourages his classmates to bully him, and he suffers from unrequited love for his classmate, Pake, who has just won Miss Blue Jeans and is to become a model. However, the situation changes when Valde becomes the leader of a rock band. Matti Kinnunen's feature debut enchants with its perfectly portrayed atmosphere of that time. (Febiofest)
