Rose i Lissa mają takie same problemy jak wszystkie nastolatki, tyle że uczą się w Akademii wampirów – tajemnej szkole z internatem. Tu uczniowie dzielą się na morojów (śmiertelne, pokojowo nastawione wampiry) i dampiry (w ich żyłach płynie krew wampirów i ludzi, są opiekunami morojów). Choć nieśmiała Lissa jest księżniczką morojów, a buntownicza i żywiołowa Rose – dampirką, są połączone telepatyczną więzią i wierzą, że ich przyjaźń będzie trwać wiecznie. Pod warunkiem jednak, że przetrwają do końca roku szkolnego. A nie będzie to proste zadanie, bo szybko zorientują się, że to właśnie w Akademii grozi im największe niebezpieczeństwo. Dodatkowo wbrew wszelkim regułom Lissa zakocha się w zwykłym śmiertelniku - Christianie, a Rose w kimś, w kim nigdy nie powinna – czyli w szkolącym ją mentorze. (Vue)

From the promising storyline supported by a promising book series, only a surprisingly roughly chopped omelet remains, though the impressions remain largely positive. With the impossibility of keeping up with the escalating mythology, with three twists and two new characters in every other five-minute segment, everything lies on the beautiful Zoey Deutch, because the wooden Danila Kozlovskij, the heavily overacting Olga Kurylenko, and the unremarkable princess don't help her much. However, the main heroine, as well as the less successful and insufficiently soaked in sarcasm scenes, handles it with ease, which, combined with cool action and a strong frequency of lines, is absolutely sufficient. However, if I were to seek logic in the sequence of the plot, I would have to burst far more.

It is clear from the beginning that this film will not be a miracle. It is stylized like "Twilight," which is not very good, but that's how it goes. But what I liked more was at least some effort to turn it into a bit of a thriller or detective story. Towards the end, it unnecessarily becomes tangled, and actually, it is clear from the beginning who the killer is, but I still felt that there was at least a hint of effort here.
