16-letni Russell Middlebrook wciąż próbuje spotykać się z dziewczynami. Kevin robi wszystko, aby jego koledzy z drużyny futbolowej nie dowiedzieli się, co ukrywa. Min i Terese deklarują, że są po prostu dobrymi przyjaciółkami, a Ike nadal nie wie kim jest i kim chce być w przyszłości. Z problemami najtrudniej jest radzić sobie w pojedynkę, dlatego zakładają “klub geograficzny” - żaden inny uczeń przy zdrowych zmysłach nigdy przecież nie wstąpi do klubu, od którego wieje taką nudą. Geography Club is an enjoyable film that combines dramatic and comedic elements quite effectively, and deals with a number of topical issues, like sexual minorities, bullying and interpersonal relationships. Story-wise, the film doesn't offer anything unseen, but it does have a few memorable scenes, both humorous (the care of the doll) and serious (the character of Brian), which detract from its dry dullness, helped by a not-so-typical ending. Better three stars!

A movie about a group of people who don't have an easy life. They are different. They stand out at first sight, or maybe only on the second. Either they are weird in appearance, or they are introverted, but they are warm. It is possible to live with this, but even nowadays, the world doesn't treat them very well. And especially at school. If this were to be revealed, it would be a big problem. That's why they come together within the framework of a geography club, which is, of course, just a cover. The relationships are resolved quite normally, but it is watchable if you don't have prejudices. It's just simply not something great. Good, yes. I'm sure the book adaptation will be more interesting.
