An excellent city documentary by Uno Pihlström (1903-1965), who was born and bred in Tampere himself. The documentary was shot the Interim peace in the year of 1940 and is enlivened by an interesting commentary. In 1940, there were more than two hundred factories in Tampere, which rightfully earned the city the title of Manchester of Finland. "Tampere will not yield until the day that Manchester is called the Tampere of England." (Tampere Film Festival)
