Internationally, the division of Czechoslovakia was called a Velvet Divorce in comparison with what happened in the dissolution of the former Yugoslavia. We want to show, by using the specific case of the dissolution of one state, the generally applicable characteristics of human nature. Why, in a duel with reason, does negative emotion triumph?
