Trójka przyjaciół z przedmieścia zna się od zawsze. Są nierozłączni i nie wyobrażają sobie, że kiedyś mogliby się rozstać. Jednak pewnego dnia dowiadują się, że ich osiedle będzie rozebrane, bo właśnie w tym miejscu ma przebiegać autostrada. Ich rodziny przygotowują przeprowadzki w różne strony kraju, a zgraną paczkę czeka bolesna i nieuchronna rozłąka. Przed rozstaniem pragną jeszcze przeżyć ostatnią przygodę i zbadać tajemnicze zjawisko zakłócające ich telefony komórkowe. Szybko odkrywają, że zakłócenie nie są przypadkowe i układają się w tajemniczą mapę. Dzieciaki nawet nie przypuszczają, że przed nimi największa przygoda życia – spotkanie z przybyszem z kosmosu. Surprisingly, I was able to get over the fact that the entirety of this film was shot with a hand-held camera. Maybe because the movie managed to return me to my childhood. It tells a story about a group of fifteen-year-old boys who are about to say their goodbyes and move to different parts of America. Before that happens, however, they decide to spend their last evening together by embarking on their last grand adventure, which they hope to never forget. You can feel that the story is simple and made on low budget, but I didn’t mind at all. I enjoyed this last adventure as much as if it were my own. And that’s what’s important with movies like this.

I like that filmmakers have managed to use a handheld camera for something other than a horror film. True, this has already been achieved in the movie "Super 8", and the story is quite similar, but not horror, rather a family film with a hint of sci-fi. It will probably be logical to compare it to the film "E.T.", from which "Earth to Echo" cannot emerge as a winner. The story is not strong enough for that.
