Ila, wciąż młoda i piękna gospodyni domowa, postanawia dodać trochę koloru swemu bezbarwnemu małżeństwu – zgodnie z maksymą „przez żołądek do serca".

(Gutek Film)

angielski The Lunchbox is a very likable film that is poetically thoughtful and both funny and sad. Irrfan Khan’s minimalist acting makes it interesting to watch him even opening bowls of food that we do not see. Indian openness, talent for portraying the characters’ feelings through dialogue and, in particular, EDITING. It is also beautifully written! Loneliness, searching, and, at a crucial moment, dreaded hesitation. In a place where there are so many people and everyone wants what others have, even the wrong train can take us to the right place. We just mustn't miss it. ()

angielski The Lunchbox is one of the few things that enter your soul and never get out of it again. It actually tells a story of something I didn’t know of until I found out about it through this movie. I admit that I still know only very little to judge our whole world, but this network of delivery guys that has been delivering lunches to employees of various Indian factories for more than a hundred years got to me completely. I don’t understand the precision, accuracy, punctuality, and most of all functionality. Everything with a grain of salt, of course, because nothing is perfect and it is because of that one imperfection that this nice movie, which is so beautiful visually that it is almost sad, was created. Meetings like this can only happen because of destiny itself. Or do you have some other explanation? ()

angielski When I hear about European coproduction with Indian cinema, I feel the scent of Bollywood in the air, wherein more lively nonsense is created with European money in exotic settings. Fortunately, this film has much more in common with French and German festival productions than with Indian dream factory productions. I take my hat off to Ritesh Batra for his feature debut. This kind of melancholic romance appealed to me, although the sobering ending of the film may not be digestible for everyone. With this film, the director brutally returns from carefree optimism to the real world, where certain knowledge and decisions simply hurt. I estimate that the film has a chance to appeal more to viewers of the age of movie heroes, who already know how life goes. Overall impression: 90%. By the way, Nimrat Kaur is truly beautiful. ()

angielski Irrfan Khan is my favorite Indian actor and I was looking forward to Inferno more because of him than Hanks. He showcases his mastery in The Lunchbox. But the film isn't just about him; it's about great characters, a beautiful platonic romance, and a concept that's almost in the style of absurd theater. I think it's beautiful! ()
