A young woman (Kristen Stewart) joins the military to be part of something bigger than herself and her small town roots. But she ends up as a new guard at Guantanamo Bay instead, where her mission is far from black and white. Surrounded by hostile jihadists and aggressive squadmates, she strikes up an unusual friendship with one of the detainees, Ali (Peyman Moaadi). Well, considering that this is a conversational drama, which takes place mostly between two characters in one small cell and hallway, it really caught my attention. Kristen shows that her acting fits perfectly into such films, but she has a great co-star. It is just emotional enough, ultimately about nothing, but I simply enjoyed watching it.
