The movie tells the story of Gang leader, Billy Evans (Leo Gregory), who is above the law. He knows it, they know it and when you regard the law as an irrelevance, all kinds of opportunities open up for you, especially when you begin to exert your increasingly powerful influence over the back street pubs and clubs of east London. Considering that I'm not particularly fond of similar British films because they all seem the same to me, this one actually got to me quite a bit. Mainly because there are interesting scenes that don't get boring right away and still attack the emotions in the right way. It's a tough world, so deal with it. And this world doesn't coddle its characters.
