Max Simkin (Adam Sandler) zarabia na życie, naprawiając buty, tak jak jego ojciec i dziadek. Mężczyzna pracuje w niewielkim zakładzie szewskim w Nowym Jorku, należącym do jego rodziny od pokoleń. Pewnego dnia Max odnajduje magiczną maszynę do szycia butów i postanawia ją wypróbować. Okazuje się, że dzięki niej może poczuć się kimś innym – po nałożeniu butów, przyniesionych przez swoich klientów, Max zaczyna patrzeć na świat ich oczami. Sandler failed miserably with this one. The movie was quite civil, but it could have at least been a bit watchable. This flick was incredibly boring and the Jewish music motifs didn’t make it better, either.

The ending feels terribly lost, and you get the sense that something that could have been more interesting is cut short halfway, but there's nothing to be done about it. I just can't be objective when it comes to a Sandler movie. I enjoyed this film; there are interesting actors, and even though the summary isn't executed well, the journey was intriguing and sometimes inventive.
