Max Simkin (Adam Sandler) zarabia na życie, naprawiając buty, tak jak jego ojciec i dziadek. Mężczyzna pracuje w niewielkim zakładzie szewskim w Nowym Jorku, należącym do jego rodziny od pokoleń. Pewnego dnia Max odnajduje magiczną maszynę do szycia butów i postanawia ją wypróbować. Okazuje się, że dzięki niej może poczuć się kimś innym – po nałożeniu butów, przyniesionych przez swoich klientów, Max zaczyna patrzeć na świat ich oczami. This ending feels terribly lost and gives you the feeling that something that could have been still interesting is cut in half, but there's nothing you can do about it. When it comes to a movie with Sandler, I simply can't be objective. I enjoyed this film, there are interesting actors here, and even though the plot is not well executed, the journey was interesting and imaginative in some places.

Sandler failed miserably with this one. The movie was quite civil, but it could have at least been a bit watchable. This flick was incredibly boring and the Jewish music motifs didn’t make it better, either.
