Bosch

In the ninth episode, the same applies as in the previous ones, there is no major action, and yet I can't tear myself away from the screen. Obviously, I can't criticize the series for anything, so I can only write that I had a great time again. (25.09.2017)

The creators served me a nicely elaborated final episode of the second season. Hieronymus Bosch, with his characteristic style, meticulously develops from the initial frustration to the final frustration with this piece. In my comment on the eighth episode, I mentioned the Cimrmanesque shrapnel, which was used again this time, but in this case, very literally. (25.09.2017)

Season 3 left a little to be desired, and I consider it the weakest one so far. I was looking forward to the grim atmosphere of the previous seasons as well as a good dose of suspense, but I was put on a strict diet this time. The story had atmosphere, but not as powerful, and there was practically no tension. I didn’t like that the ending was hurried to provide enough time to set the stage for the next season. I'm not saying I was bored. Not at all. I was just looking forward to a magnificent feast and only got a vegetarian portion. (15.03.2018)

Detective Hieronymus Bosch has clearly returned in full force, again completely overwhelmed with work and still unable to control occasional outbursts of his temper. Anyway, I have given the first episode of the third season only four stars, because I consider it just a promising start of the new series. (14.03.2018)

In the second episode, the creators have so far held back a bit, although it is true that I am already familiar with their typical system of many seemingly unrelated storylines that, as I assume, will converge again seamlessly at some point. I am already looking forward to it. (14.03.2018)

Events in the third episode slowly started to unfold, a part of the hidden picture revealed itself, and the series once again regains the proper "Bosch-like" atmosphere that I'm used to from the previous seasons. I'm genuinely intrigued by how the peculiar black colloid fits into the story and I'm looking forward to more information. (14.03.2018)

Interesting episode, full of more or less hidden threats, which gave the atmosphere of the third season a paranoid touch. Everyone is investigating each other, only Chief Irving is relaxed and arranging a date. Bosch's investigation forces his adversaries into their first direct action and it looks like the following episodes will be more lively. (14.03.2018)

Okay, I like the series, but I also have to admit that compared to previous seasons, the atmosphere is not as perfect and I still miss some tension. I quietly hoped that the fifth episode would finally pick up more, but it didn't happen again. I'm not saying it was a bad episode, not at all, but it could use a little spicing up. (15.03.2018)

The situation was similar to the previous episode, the investigation brought to light more pieces of the puzzle, people in front of and behind the camera delivered professional performances, I wasn't bored, but it lacked the juice. I still hope that something will happen that will give the story more intensity. (15.03.2018)

Well, it looks like the next episodes of the third Bosch won't get five stars from me. I'm sorry about it, but it happened again, what I complained about in the comments on previous episodes. The creators still fail to build the right atmosphere and I miss the element of suspense a lot. (15.03.2018)

The eighth episode brings a fairly slow pace and the story doesn't move forward much, rather it expands. The creators have so far successfully avoided building tension, they only slightly missed it at the end of the episode, which pleased me, but on the other hand, Jerry Edgar's foolish behavior disappointed me. The plot of the ninth episode was finally more interesting, the story finally moved forward, but it still wasn't enough for a five-star rating. In this series, I have already given a five-star rating twice because I was hoping for a proper twist, but this time I won't let myself be provoked and I will wait for the final episode. Even in the final episode, the creators were unable to surpass themselves and did not come close to the quality of the previous seasons. The third season was essentially concluded in the first half of the tenth episode, the second part only dealt with preparing the viewer for the fourth series, and now I feel strangely deceived. I consider Season 4 to be the weakest one so far. There was no trace of the great atmosphere that Bosch started off with. Action scenes were very sparse, and the pace of the story was sometimes too slow. Just like before, the creators focused on the personal lives of the protagonists, but unlike in the previous seasons, they lapsed into melodrama, and Maddie's storyline in particular often slowed down the plot. Too bad that the writing doesn't stick to Connolly's books more, I think it would do the series a lot of good. (17.01.2019)

I rated the episode with a cautious four stars, the plot was quite interesting, right from the start it became clear that detective Hieronymus Bosch would not have a shortage of work, it just bothered me a little that I again didn't experience the elaborate atmosphere that adorned the episodes of the first season, and the tension didn't convince me too much either. 4 stars. I have the feeling that the screenwriter's muse flew away somewhere unknown and never returned. When I read Connelly's books, I can't tear myself away from them, while watching the second episode, I could think of many other things because the slow pace of the story, the lack of action, and the atmosphere allowed me to do so. Hmmm, I see that within the current enrichment of culture and political correctness, a quality crime series has turned into a condescending massage of the gray matter of the brain for black people. It happens too often for my taste, and I really have no idea why everything of quality has to change into right-wing propaganda. (15.01.2019)

Such a change really took me by surprise, the death of one of the characters managed to bring the episode back to where Bosch entertained me. I only have strong fears that the following course of the season will return to the issues of black and white United States and any investigation will be sidelined. If that doesn't happen, I'll be glad. (15.01.2019)

The fifth episode wasn't completely bad, but once again it lacked pace in the plot, I didn't even get a proper dose of tension and it seems like the creators have completely given up on creating an atmosphere. It's really a shame that the screenplay doesn't make an effort to follow Connolly's books, I think then I wouldn't have any reason to complain. (16.01.2019)

The events finally gained some momentum, so during the episode, I didn't feel the need to find out whether it was necessary to repaint, or if it happened to be snowing outside. It wasn't Bosch from the first season this time either, but at least I enjoyed watching and didn't have to be bored. (16.01.2019)
