Marino, Martine, Victor and perhaps your child, too, suffer from a neurodevelopmental disorder known as ADHD, or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. It affects about 3 to 7 per cent of school-age children, and for about half of them the disorder persists into adulthood. Doctors often prescribe drugs that regulate brain activity. But one Danish school has a completely different approach: an alternative programme that focuses on the individual needs and problems of each child in cooperation with parents, teachers and therapists.
