It's just barely 5 stars, but I couldn’t help myself. If you're interested in and familiar with anime and manga creators from the late 70's and early 80's, this will just blow your mind. The protagonist is, frankly, an asshole, but that absolutely doesn't detract from the appeal of the story, which has so many references to the pop culture of the time that you can't stop rolling your eyes. What’s more, we meet the kinds of personalities that would make the heart of an otaku weep with joy. Not to mention that it features perhaps the best opening I've seen in a fiction series. And the viewer always gets some extra information during the closing titles. I enjoyed it with all the exaggerated gestures, the speeches of the anime heroes and all the various characters. Despite the fact that my picture and sound were occasionally choppy due to lack of computing power, and that the sun blinded me at times. Sensitive fare.
