Nieodstępna pustynia Majave i dwóch zupełnie różnych ludzi. Pierwszy to Madec (Michael Douglas) bezwzględny rekin biznesu, którego jedyną pasją poza zarabianiem pieniędzy jest polowanie. Drugi to Ben (Jeremy Irvine), młody i biedny chłopak, od lat żyjący na obrzeżach pustyni. Ben zgadza się zostać przewodnikiem Madeca. Ruszają na pustynię. Pech sprawia, że Madec strzelając do zwierzyny trafia przypadkowego człowieka. Chłopak jest niewygodnym świadkiem. Rozpoczyna się bezwzględne polowanie, w którym Ben może liczyć tylko na cud. Michael Douglas really enjoys this negative role and I enjoyed his acting and the whole story. It's nothing groundbreaking, it's straightforward and clear, but here and there you can really feel the suffering that the other character is going through. Suffering that seems like it will never end. But in the end, there is an ending and it is in the expected and proper manner.

Beyone the Reach features the beautiful wide-angle New Mexico desert, a sophisticated villain played by Michael Douglas with an earth-shaking Mercedes G63 6x6 and young Jeremy Irvine, whom you won't believe as a desert hitchhiker due to his series-worthy face. The film plays a quite entertaining cat-and-mouse game, but it embarrasses itself with the cheap B-movie nonsense at the end.

Michael Douglas as we like him best, a smarmy, self-centered millionaire financier. Only that, instead of Gwyneth Paltrow, this time he has a no less charming big-ass Mercedes, but otherwise this attempt at genre survival is rather a train wreck. Jeremy Irvine's character is often odd – or rather, his actions are severely illogical, and there are more scenes that occasionally fail to make sense than the classic viewer expecting an entertaining game of cat and mouse would be willing to forgive.
