It's unbelievable, but the musical version of War of the Worlds (yes, I know how odd it sounds) has not made the story worse at all. On the contrary, thanks to Jeff Wayne's timeless music, it gave it an unexpected extra dimension by making it into a big show, playfully conveying to thousands of audience members live everything that we like about Wells's novel to this day. It is great. Even with a real tripod and Liam Neeson.
