A riveting drama depicting the racial riots that spread across Germany more than twenty years ago, reflecting actual events and the continuing problem of xenophobia. In August 1992 in Rostock, Germany, a boisterous crowd attacks a projects building inhabited by re-fugees and immigrants applying for asylum. For Stefan, Robbie and their gang, the skirmishes between police and refugees are a welcome distraction from the boredom of their empty days. Stefan's father is a local politician who is trying to find a peaceful solution to the situation but continually runs into ro-adblocks. Lien and her Vietnamese family want to stay in Germany where they have jobs and friends but, as the tensions increase, they begin to fear for their lives.
