Idunn (7) is afraid of the dark. One winter afternoon, her mother has to work late, and Idunn's older brother Even (12) refuses to babysit her - he thinks she's a sissy. Despite of her fear of the dark, and being angry at her brother, Idunn insists that she is old enough to be home alone until her mother gets back from work.
