The reclusive and introverted Ichiko (Sakura Ando) lives above her parent's bento-box shop, with no ambitions or prospects whatsoever. In fact, she spends the vast majority of her day playing video games, much to the annoyance of everyone around her. Indeed, her recently divorced sister has moved back in and the already precarious slacker ecosystem that Ichiko had in place soon collapses. She angrily moves out and finds a minimum-wage job at a 100-yen shop nearby, which is located next to a boxing gym. One of the boxers frequently comes into the store to buy bananas. Ichiko's fascination grows, and as she learns to cope with her insufferable co-workers, she bonds with this Banana Man. Then a night out takes a traumatic turn and soon Ichiko finds herself putting on some gloves. (Hawaii International Film Festival)
