La isla

A beautiful, quiet island somewhere off the Chilean coast becomes the backdrop to a family reunion. Its hidden corners are explored while memories of a carefree existence come to the fore. Other members of the family await Jaime who should have arrived earlier that day. Inspired by a Wisława Szymborska poem as well as both authors' personal memories of youth, this magical and subtle film is the first collaboration of these two female filmmakers. (IFF Bratislava)
