Out of Nature is a journey inside Martin's head and out into the wild nature. Martin is alone on a hiking trip in the mountains and we hear all of his uncensored thoughts and brutally honest observations about himself and the people around him. With thoughts and fantasies ranging from the trivial and infantile to the existential and profound, Out of Nature is an honest and funny portrait of a young man wanting to break the mould. Near Death Experience twenty years ago and Scandinavian. Out of Nature is equally open and honest, but not as poetic or mature and written with delicious lyricism. As if reflecting the age of the main character, the film is unclear and fumbling. It feels colder and rawer, while visually it is not as interesting or creative. And to me personally, it’s not as relatable or likable. The main character and his inner turmoil actually didn’t interest me very much.

A pleasant and precise probe into the depths of imagination, phobias and desires of a middle-aged man which, after the "Forever Young" culmination, is shot down by a slushy and increasingly self-pitying second half with several fantastic scenes, for which I would probably need a shovel to get them out of my head. It is the brutal sincerity, given by the combination of an inner monologue and the intertwining of reality and subjective perspective, that does not ultimately work in favor of the film. Even so, I appreciate the creativity and the chance to show women what is happening in my head.
