Załoga statku badawczego płynącego na potencjalnie obfitującą w ropę naftową wyspę dostrzega tratwę ratunkową z młodą Dawn (Jessica Lange) i zabiera ją na pokład. Gdy docierają do celu okazuje się, że wyspa jest zamieszkana przez prymitywny lud oddający cześć olbrzymiej małpie o imieniu Kong. I used to watch it over and over again when I was a kid, and the huge walking ape really terrified me with its horrible roar. Now I saw it again after a long time and what scared me was Jessica Lange with her horrible screaming. It's not a bad version, but for being more than 40 years newer than the original, it really lags behind it by quite a bit.

"King Kong" from 1976 is good, in the sense of being average. It is interesting in terms of acting, but gradually you realize that it is difficult to endure. The screenplay is often very weak and the film is unnecessarily stretched out, so the tension fades away. The finale is great, but it takes too long to get to it, and some scenes are completely unnecessary. The interesting charm that it had in my childhood is gone. Unfortunately, some films simply age.
