It's never too late to start living. In Last Cab to Darwin, Jeremy Sims directs Australian acting legends, Michael Caton and Jacki Weaver against the backdrop of the stunning Australian outback. Caton gives the performance of a lifetime as Rex, a Broken Hill cab driver who, when told he doesn’t have long to live, sets out on an epic journey to Darwin in a bid to die on his own terms. Filled with hope, humour and heart, Last Cab to Darwin reminds us all that it’s never too late to start living. (Icon Home Entertainment)

angielski A roadmovie is only as good as the situations of the person who is the centerpiece of the story. And since the protagonist of this movie is a bit of a loner, I quickly found understanding for him. As opposed to all the others who evidently live completely different lives than those that I can even imagine. But I must admit that this naturally human entrance ticket to the life of Australians was a very interesting experience because it showed me the different kinds of life people can lead on this planet of ours… Or the different ways in which they survive. For instance those Aborigines. Well and that’s not to speak of that tree in the scorched land. I was simply shaking my head at that. Even despite that, this journey through Australian backlands to Darwin seemed very interesting, original and imaginative for me. And although I couldn’t understand the people, I watched them with an interest in their fate. And Michael Caton at the helm worked really well with this through his natural charisma. It’s not enough for a five-star review because I couldn’t understand some situations and people but on the other hand I said to myself that I haven’t seen such a good roadmovie in a long time. ()
