A recent blockbuster in China, this free-wheeling fantasy adventure is an action-packed romp, blending Raiders of the Lost Ark and Tomb Raider clichés with Chinese legend. Chen Kun, Shu Qi and Huang Bo star as three legendary 'Mojin Xiaowei' tomb raiders who find themselves reunited when a cult leader hires them to return to the location of their last mission, a remote Mongolian spot where an old love was lost and protected by zombie troops. This movie definitely isn't a bomb, although it must be acknowledged that it is visually very good in those slightly more horror-like scenes. Otherwise, it's a somewhat standard variation of "Indiana Jones", with the obligatory happy ending and a bit of darkness redeemed by light at the end of the tunnel. However, as afternoon entertainment, it's fine.
