angielski Almost an undignified variation on (or copy of) Casablanca. Paradoxically, however, this film impressed me much more. Maybe because there isn't such an aura of "perfection" around it, and certainly because in my eyes the central couple has a more believable relationship. A pleasant movie that does not offer any new perspectives, but after watching, you will definitely not regret the time you spent with it. ()

angielski Bogart in wartime danger and intoxicated by feminine charm destroys all opponents in sight with charisma and readiness. But Casablanca magic lacks consistency, timelessness, and that almost tangible sense of destiny. Lauren Bacall may be beautiful, but she simply isn't my prototype of a fateful woman. On the contrary, her Marie simply drifts through the story and despite her irresistible beauty, she remains a slightly confused and jaded girl who hardly deserves Bogart's attention with her behavior. Their relationship also has no chance to flourish because it takes place in the background behind the wartime front lines, which, even though it takes up much more time, only skims the surface cautiously. Everything happens according to contrived complications, from the first obstacle to the last one. And even though the film is enjoyable to watch, thanks to the main duo (the chemistry between them, which was also visible in real life, is evident in every scene), Hawks' film is just a fleeting nostalgic memory. It's worth having, but next time maybe somewhere else. ()

angielski Humphrey Bogart once again proves what a great actor he was, not only through his acting but also through his spoken acting. When he speaks, it is truly worth it. He and Lauren fit perfectly together, which was reflected in their marriage. It reminds me a little of "Casablanca" and it doesn't have its full qualities, but that doesn't change the fact that there are great characters here. ()
