Minä ja pikkusiskoni

Sparrooabbán is a road movie-type documentary film concerning neighbourly love, sisterhood and acceptance. Suvi, the director and storyteller of the documentary, is unable to understand her own people, the narrow-minded approach of the Sami people towards homosexuality and would like to protect her little sister. Kaisa is living in a satisfactory relationship in Helsinki, where she feels that she can be herself and safe from homophobia. However, this is not the case in Sámiland, where conservative Christian values have a profound impact. Kaisa is also of the Christian faith, and dreams of a traditional church wedding, as well as children. Suvi, however, identifies with the more indigenous beliefs, and would like to introduce her sister to alternative values. Thus begins a spiritual mental and physical journey in search of approval.
