Marvel: The Punisher

What I expected from The Punisher was some powerful action, but the authors of the screenplay saw things differently. There was loads of unnecessary dialogue only to stretch out the plot. It's a shame because the creators were obviously able to shoot great action scenes, which I really enjoyed. If Season 1 had been at least three episodes shorter, it would have greatly benefited the series. Eight episodes would have been perfect. (05.02.2019)

I don't want to say that I was completely disappointed by the first episode, but I wasn't excited either. What I expected from this series mostly happened outside of the picture (I mean that opening action montage), and then there was mostly just a lot of talking, with action saving everything on the construction site and in the game room. Although, in my opinion, the story of the second episode was somewhat more interesting than in the first part, the action was noticeably weaker, which is a significant flaw for me in series of this type. I have no problem with productions that have many dialogues, but specifically with the Punisher, I expected mainly strong action, and it has still not appeared. (02.02.2019)

Hmmm, this time I wouldn't give it a three-star rating even if I wanted to, but to be honest, I didn't even feel like it. The episode consisted mostly of memories of both main characters, and to tell you the truth, I didn't find anything that really interested me. (03.02.2019)

This time, I didn't have a reason to be enthusiastic, but I could add a star to the last third of the fourth part, it managed to slightly recover me from the incoming numbness. The majority of the episode was rather boring again, and the most exciting moment I experienced was during the repair of the crusher. (03.02.2019)

To my genuine surprise, I was awarded a successful episode, and I really didn't expect that. It all started so desperately, after fixing the waste, even the spotlight came on and I was afraid that Frank would turn into a clockwork husband, but then the story picked up pace and I really enjoyed the romantic rendezvous at the forest cottage. I also couldn't help but notice how strategically Amber Rose Revah placed the signs. But that was just a side note, it didn't affect my evaluation. (03.02.2019)

In addition to the fact that Dinah and Bill have not been able to separate from each other, the sixth episode actually didn't interest me at all, which is quite unfortunate. There was a lot of talking, but I can't get rid of the feeling that it was about nothing and the storyline with Lewis Wilson felt as unnecessary as a chimney in a submarine. Boredom. (03.02.2019)

The creators once again failed to cheer me up with the script, but at least I had a feeling that they didn't try to bore me at all costs, as they almost managed to do in the sixth episode. I just don't quite understand Russo's tactic, when eight men failed in Gunner's grove, he only sent four here? I guess he wanted to save lives. (04.02.2019)

In the notes for the eighth episode, the word boredom was my most frequently used expression. The episode consisted mainly of conversations, but I was not even entertained by the opening, neither did the post-coital scene improve it, and the subsequent reminiscing about the introduction to the wives almost depressed me. Without the final action, I actually had nothing positive to evaluate. I can't help but feel that the creators forgot that they are making a series based on a comic. (04.02.2019)

This was really funny. I don't mean the episode itself, but the fact that I enjoyed the part that revolved around Lewis Wilson's subplot. However, I must admit that it had its twists and an unexpected depth. Curtis is slowly but surely becoming the most interesting character for me. (04.02.2019)

The tenth episode worked quite well for me. One event shown from various perspectives surprisingly amused me and, in addition, the creators stopped beating around the bush and finally opened poor Frank's eyes, so the plot could finally get moving properly. At least I hope so. (04.02.2019)

Well, hurray, the creators finally decided to shoot Punisher and saved the conversational drama for another time. I'm fine with watching almost any genre, but from this series, I expect exactly the kind of action that the eleventh episode brought me. It's a pity that it didn't work like this for most of the time. (05.02.2019)

I reviewed it again and rated it five stars, although at times the logic was more scattered than Frank Castle's mind, and that's saying something. The friendly fire result was also extremely transparent, and Frank took it even more than the T-700, but still, I decided to overlook all the flaws in order to appreciate the action and the amazing atmosphere. After two action-packed episodes, the final episode of the first season disappointed me a bit. I had the feeling that the creators decided to clean up the set after the previous high-quality action, and whatever they couldn't handle sweeping and vacuuming, they at least kicked under the furniture to have a relatively clean environment for the new season. Moreover, Frank's decision about Billy's fate in the style of "Live and let harm" didn't convince me too much. 4 stars. (05.02.2019)
